A review of Quickgunmurgun
It was a whole day outing with my friend. We planned for a movie, then some look around the city and then a dinner of which I was suppose to pay for the desert. Anyways, coming to the point, I was asked to choose the movie and going by the schedule list, there was not much option we had.
• Kaminey (already watched)
• Fox (I don’t remember when Sunny gave a good movie last)
• Aghe se right (After Paying Guest, forget it!)
• Couple of Marathi movies ( my friend don’t understands the language)
• Wake up Sid (Yeah! got it. But it was not released yet)
That meant only Quick-gun was remaining. But no, no. Not this one please, my friend shouted. I checked on the director, (considering the fact the actors were nowhere to my known list) the same who directed Waise bhi hota hain Part II. I had liked that movie and thought it would be too a different experience. No doubt, we were in.
Truly speaking we were just eight people in the hall, that also there were two couples who were definitely not there to watch the movie. The whole hall was ours, just for four of us. We sat at the last rows though we had front row seats, the guard never had problems. The movie had already started but actually we didn’t realize it at all until Lola Kutti came dancing. We thought it may be some promotional add of some new restaurant chain and really the movie was literally all about that only. No story, no stars, no music, no sense, nothing! The worst movie of this year. Chandni Chowk to China was better. The only good thing about this movie was that it ended very soon. Oh my God! Another few minutes in, my friend might have chewed the whole seat.
I don’t understand what this Hollywood production thinks about Indian Cinema. Please, we, Indian audience are far par matured than what you think. I mean first Sawariya, Chandni Chowk to China and now this crap and hell movie. I still raise an eye brow why it was given a good rating in the reviews section in papers. Yeah! Of course Times of India was backing it but still I have a piece of advice for them, before associating with a movie please check on the script. The Firangi are not always right. And being a responsible media please don’t mislead your readers. Seriously, the movie didn’t even deserve a single star. Not even I could say a time pass one; please don’t go for this torture even you have downloaded it or your friend is paying for it.
And lastly, I really doubt how My name is Khan would be after this one. Yeah! Quick-gun had flushed out the Slumdog fame out of my mind.
this is my first story i wrote
I was just 17 when I met her first. I always enjoyed travelling. Though I was reluctant for the trip because it was a family affair and the destination was ISKCON temple in Mayapur. However it was an unforgettable one.
The shrine premise is an architectural masterpiece, situated on banks of Ganges, a very peaceful place exiled from the human settlements where nature has bestowed all her power to create this wonderland. I was thankful to my family for the outing as it changed my life forever.
As we reached the place, I separated from my family so that I could explore it properly. ISKCON had volunteers which guided small groups through the temple. I was too a part of such group which comprised of couple of families. I thought of switching, for one which contains few young people, but then suddenly my eyes stuck on her.
She was of my age, tall and fair, her hair was dark brown. Her killer eyes ceased my breath. I felt her aroma which made the atmosphere calmer. She had a perfect posture. She was wearing designer dress, a black robe which didn’t match the occasion. She was like a Goddess promoting some brand. I chased her all through. I wanted her to notice me too, but she was in her own world. I raised few doubts and also exchanged little information with guide quite loudly in order to draw her attention. But my efforts ended as losers. But I kept on peering her and she ignored. My absence for a long period had raised few eye-borrows amongst my family and I thought returning to them in case they don’t raise any question with a ‘grapes are sour’ thought in my mind.
It was the time to go back. I was down and then I saw her again. She was sitting on a bench in the parking lot, adjusting her lipstick. She was very much in it as if cracking IIT-JEE. I prayed she could just look at me so that I could bid her good bye. And my wish was heard, our eyes met and I waved my hand, she gave a cute smile and continued concentrating in her tiny mirror. It was enough for me, I was contented. I didn’t want that moment to perish but time never impedes.
Eight years later I am still single and getting married, an arranged one. I never got together with mine to be then, other than that we talked couple of times on phone and also seem her photo. She always resembled known yet I never really could recollect. I requested my mom that we meet once in order to know each other’s persona a bit. Mom agreed.
We were meeting in an isolated restaurant, she was late, I was losing patience and called her, she asked me to just turn around. There she was! a tall malicious beauty in a black sari. I got it she was my black beauty. My heart jumped out of joy inside. We took our table and the first words I uttered were, “Have you ever been to Mayapur.” She was bewildered. But I knew she was the one. Before she could respond I cried, “forget it” bend on my knees, took a rose from the table, held her hand and proposed her. She was still out of state but said, “I guess we are to walk down the aisle next month anyway.” Paused and continued, “my answer is YES.”
